An account of the resource
This is an English translation of the memorial letter from Rome in which American Catholics were granted permission to be members of the Knights of Labor and still remain in good standing in the Catholic Church. The letter was originally written in Latin by Giovanni Cardinal Simeoni, the Roman official who addressed such matters. The translation reproduced here is courtesy of Nick Tussing.
